Artist's Description
The interior of this old abandoned building depicts many years of hard work. The marks made by a broad axe still remain on the original logs and scraps of wall paper added many, many years later. A tree seen through the window is a sure sign that the back yard has become overgrown. One must imagine that family life wasn't all hard work but included many happy times enjoying family meals, storytelling, craftwork and studying by the lamplight.
